Claiming a Lost Pet 

Once an owner and animal are matched, be prepared to:

  • Visit the Animal Control Facility to verify that it’s the correct animal.
  •  Prove ownership by showing veterinary records or a picture.
  • Answer how the animal got lost.
  • Pay applicable impound, citation, boarding, veterinary, and licensing fees.
  • Arrange an inspection of a fenced yard (only necessary if the animal escaped from a fence).
